- Volunteer activity and most importantly
- Arranging professional appointments with experts in the field of interest.
EXAMPLE: A delegation of 11 professionals came to us via the Ministry of the Interior in Taiwan to learn more about Domestic Violence. We arranged for them to learn about shelter services for victims, services for children of domestic violence, judicial and law systems, and community prevention and education.
EXAMPLE: A delegation of 10 came to us from The Japan Intercultural Academy of Municipalities (JIAM) to learn more about “Cooperation Between Non-profits and Local Governments”. Samples of meetings included:
- Focus on effective use of regional/local resources in community development.
- Panel discussion consisting of civic and business leaders sharing an overview of our historical challenges and the revitalization that the region has experienced.
- Private-public-partnership that exists to create redevelopment in one of San Diego’s most underserved communities.
