What a great way to visit the world without leaving San Diego!
We connect our members with our international visitors through several different opportunities so each person ends up knowing more than they did before they met.

Airport Welcome
First impressions of our city are enhanced when we make the effort to greet our visitors to San Diego right up front. This involves welcoming them and pointing them in the direction of their transportation to their hotel. That's it, a small task that makes a big difference. Please contact us.

Home (Dinner) Hospitality
Invite our visitors to your home for dinner. We provide you with a bio of each visitor, a summary of their program of study while here, and a Culture Gram about their country to help your visit get off on the right foot. Please contact us.

Lunch with a Visitor
Treat a visitor to lunch. There is always time in their schedule to 'do lunch'. Not a group of 17, THAT could break your budget, but when there is a single visitor with one interpreter, perhaps treating them to lunch would be a treat for you too.
Please contact us.

Overnight Home Stay
Do you have a spare bedroom? Rarely but sometimes, our visitors, need a home stay with our members. Range of stay is from one night but never longer than a week. For example, in early December each year we host visitors from Russia who need this help. Please contact us.

Volunteer Driver
Occasionally we need a member to drive the visitor(s) to their professional appointments. You can be reimbursed for mileage if you wish, plus you get to sit in on these most amazing appointments. Guaranteed you will learn something you didn't know! Please contact us.

Visitor Orientation
'Big picture' overview orientations of our region are provided to incoming visitor groups. They are briefed about our geography, economy, governance, history, etc. in a concise, interesting power point with notes for each slide. If you have a little 'ham' in you, this is for you. Please contact us.

Culture Guide
When their schedule allows it, accompany visitors to tourist attractions, sporting events, a concert, or give them your own drive around San Diego pointing out things you always show your own relatives when they come to town. Please contact us.

Office Volunteer

There is always more to do than there are people to do it and this is true at our CDCSD office also. Whenever you can give us two hours or more, we guarantee you we can use your help. Sometimes it's stuffing envelopes, but could involve research, writing, or speaking about our organization to a community group that doesn't know of us yet. Please contact us.
